Boxer Urges Susan G. Komen for the Cure to Reconsider Decision, Put Needs of Women First  

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) today issued the following statement on the decision by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the nation’s leading breast cancer charity, to stop providing grants to local Planned Parenthood affiliates for breast cancer screenings:

“I was perplexed and troubled to see the decision by Susan G. Komen for the Cure to cut off funding for life-saving breast cancer screenings through Planned Parenthood because of a political witch hunt by House Republicans. I truly hope that they will reconsider this decision and put the needs of women first.”
