Thanks for your efforts in behalf of California homeowners. Unfortunately, some of us can't be helped. Even though I'm not behind on my mortgage I can't refinance because I don't have an FHA, Freddie Mac or Fannie May loan. I'm underwater but want to keep my home. BofA had me jump through hoops last year ... scanning and sending a pile of documents they specifically requested then was denied because I "didn't send adequate information". I've given up getting help but hope others are more fortunate and are able to get relief. Again... thank you for going to bat for us even if it doesn't always help.

Yes!!!! please get on these banks and financial institution so people can once again feel secure in their homes. We have waited now for YEARS for someone to take this seriously and put a stop to the banks holding onto their money while families are forced out of their homes. I hope this can be a priority with all politicians. It's not just about jobs

I would like to take the time to Thank You for your letter to Bank of America. My husband and I are currently trying to save our home from going into foreclosure (1 1/2 year) of us working with Naca and we still do not know if we will be able to save our home. Naca has been very supportive, the resistance is coming Bank of America. Bank of America can pull your loan with out notice, then claim you never made your payments on time. We were later told that they were not required to notify us that our loan was pulled. Its very frustrating! I Thank You for you help and for caring for us that are falling through the cracks, we might not be able to save our home, but hopefully with your help other families will be spared from this very stressful process. Thank You! Sincerely,
Elizabeth, Bakersfield
I congratulate Bank of America for standing firm in their stance to not change their policy regarding homeowners who wish to refinance their home mortgages. The people who bought expensive homes while knowing they did not have the finances to pay for those homes and were trying to get something for nothing should have to pay for those homes under the contract which they signed. I have no sympathy for them, nor do I respect you, Mrs. Boxer, for encouraging people to expect other hardworking people to bail them out when they make choices and then expect other people to pay for those choices.

We are thrilled to read your involvement with this issue. We did refinance with Bank of America. We went to them because our prior loan was with them. We had a perfect record, never a late payment, for over 14 years. The refinance took 4 months from start to finish. We had to jump through hoops all the way. We honestly believe they just wanted to collect on the higher interest for as long as they possibly could. This was the worse banking experience we have ever had in 62 years. Numerous phone calls never answered from supervisors all along the chain! We recommend that Bank of America stop advertising the loans if they cannot follow through.

I have spent my life handling my own financial responsibilities and doing it responsibly. I owe no one and take care of myself, arranged for my own burial, etc. Now I see where the government is bailing out all of the irresponsible financial investments, not just banks, but people who made investments they could not afford. I don't know what you are supposed to call this other than stupidity. If they get rewarded for bad behavior, why don't I get something when Ive done it the right way all along.

Stay out of private business. Why don?t you balance the budget like you should be doing instead you waste time interfering with the private sector. I am a responsible person who pays my mortgage even though I am "underwater" but you don't hear me complaining. STOP giving irresponsible people a break. There is NO reason why my tax dollars (which are way too high anyways) should be helping people that took out mortgages they could not afford. Maybe you should think about rewarding good behavior instead of giving "criminals" an incentive to walk away from their homes which they promised to pay for!

Thank you Senator Boxer for keeping the pressure on the Big Banks. I think we should explore a Public Banking System that would promote fair lending and aggressive savings, learned in school like the old saving day we used to have in public school during the 1950's. Also a clear concept of compound interest should be required in high school math...
