Thank you for opposing the Blunt amendment. As a mental health care provider, not to mention being the wife of a heart patient, I cannot imagine any more callous misuse of legislative powers than this amendment would allow. Thank you for representing the great majority of all of us!
Pam, Willits
It's hard to believe that we have legislators who are so intent on limiting the access of ordinary people to a full range of health care. I understand that it can be complicated when trying to respect the wide range of beliefs of the people in this country but some people seem intent on trying to impose their beliefs on everybody else. And thank you so much for always standing up for women's health issues especially in regard to access to contraceptives and safe abortions. I would really like the need for abortions to disappear but that seems unlikely to happen. In the meantime I believe that the best way to reduce the number is by education and access to contraceptives and that we need to keep abortions legal to protect the health of women. Sincerely,
Arden, Palo Alto
Thank you for speaking out so forcefully against this bizarre amendment. It is not only an attack on women, but on our society as a whole, and it is totally unacceptable. Keep fighting for the common good.

I applaud and support your vigilance in fighting any intrusion into the right of every citizen to affordable healthcare covering both pre-existing or current health issues.
Susan, San Rafael
I completely agree with you regarding stopping the Blunt Amendment. It puts too much power in the wrong hands. Cancelling should not be for any reason. Thank you!
Sam, San Bernardino
I thought we had at least conquered the right of women to have control over when they get pregnant, or at least let woman try to prevent disease. But these right wing nuts are over the top on this (and many other) topic(s). Thank you for the work you do. It must not be easy!
Vicki, San Diego
Thank you for objecting to this flawed amendment. If this country had universal health care, we would not have to worry about employers picking and choosing which procedures we could, and could not, avail ourselves of.
Mark, Sacramento
The Republicans are trying to use this issue of Catholic-run business trying to get out of playing by the same rules that all other employers in the public marketplace do to dismantle the Affordable Care act and any kind of regulation of the medical insurance industry. This amendment would lead to chaos and a total breakdown of regulating the content of medical insurance policies. We need more of our leaders taking a reasonable stand such as yours.
