University of California Admissions Requirements

English 4 yrs college prep classes*

Math 3 yrs, college prep math required, 4 yrs recommended, including Algebra I and II and geometry

History/Social Science 2 yrs, including U.S. history and/or civics, plus world history, cultures and geography

Science 2 yrs required, 3 yrs recommended. Must study at least two of the following: biology, chemistry, and physics

Foreign Language 2 yrs required, 3 yrs recommended

Fine Arts/Applied Art 1 year visual and performing arts

Physical Education n/a

Health/Driver Education n/a

Electives 1 year college-prep electives

Test SAT I or the ACT. Also, the SAT II in writing, math and a third subject of the student's choice

GPA 2.8 on a 4-point scale

*Not all classes are approved for entry to college. Ask your counselor.
