Senator Boxer Features Inland Air Quality
October 12, 2007
As Chairman of the Senate’s Committee on Environment and Public Works, I recently heard testimony from an array of experts on air quality in the inland region of California. All of these witnesses agreed that people -- and especially children -- suffer from a variety of ailments all because of the polluted air in the region.
I hope that you will take a moment to read the testimony from my Committee Field Briefing. You will find comments from a range of people from an amazing 11-year-old asthma sufferer, to community experts, to physicians and researchers. All agree. The time has come to reduce air pollution and stop further degradation of our air.
You can find my opening comments and the testimony of the experts on the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works' website. I think you will find, like I did, that this testimony is a serious call to action to improve air quality. You can count on me to continue to work for that goal.
Sincerely,

Barbara Boxer
United States Senator
