How do I apply for a U.S. passport?
The State Department website has a section devoted to passport questions. Click here to go to the State Department's Passport Information section.
If you need your passport issued or renewed immediately due to an emergency or special circumstances, we may be able to assist. You can telephone our San Francisco office at (415) 403-0100, and state that you have a passport emergency. A staff assistant will then direct you to a caseworker who can assist you.
How can I get a visa to a foreign country?
The State Department's Travel Warnings & Consular Information Sheets webpage includes entry requirements for all the countries listed, consulate addresses, and phone numbers to call. Click here to view.
You can also find consulate numbers listed in the Yellow Pages under "Consulates" and in the Federal Government section at the front of your phone book.
Is it safe to travel overseas?
