Dear Friends:
On November 7th, millions of Americans will exercise their right to vote. I hope that you will be among those who will help to determine the future of our nation by casting your ballot.
During several periods in American history, people have had to fight, and sometimes die, for the right to vote. They did so because of the fundamental importance of this right – the right to help decide our nation’s future. And in communities across the country, people will also vote on who will govern our cities and schools and who will serve as judges.
Many Californians have talked with me about their concerns about the possibility of fraud with the use of electronic voting machines. If your county uses these machines, you can ask to vote using a paper ballot. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS REQUEST A PAPER BALLOT AT YOUR POLLING PLACE.
This election comes at a time when America faces many important questions about governance. Regardless of your party affiliation, regardless of your political views, I encourage you to be a part of determining the path that our nation takes. Vote on November 7th.
