Boxer Secures Funding for Northern California

Washington, DC– Yesterday, the U.S. Senate passed an omnibus appropriations bill that includes funding requested by U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) for key initiatives in Northern California.

The omnibus passed the Senate by a vote of 57 to 35 and now goes to President Obama for his signature.

The following are investments secured by Senator Boxer for Butte and Mendocino Counties:

Forest Highway 171 Widening

Recipient: Butte County Association of Governments (BCAG)

Funding will be used to widen and pave Forest Highway 171. During area wildfires, the road’s quality inhibited emergency crews’ response times. Upon completion of this project, emergency response times should be cut in half.
